ABOUT THE JOURNAL
As the official journal owned and published by the Korean Association of Immunologists (KIA), Immune Network publishes novel peer-reviewed original findings and review articles in all areas of basic and clinical immunology. Areas covered include, but are not limited to, cellular immunology and immune regulation, molecular and structural immunology, innate immunity and inflammation, autoimmunity, transplantation and tumor immunology, and immunotherapy. Priority is given to studies that provide fundamental insight into the network of host immune responses. Major criteria for acceptance are quality, originality, clarity, and conciseness. Immune Network is published bimonthly and issuing dates are the last days of Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, and Dec.

EDITORIAL POLICY
Prior publication: Submission of a manuscript implies that the data have not been published previously and will not be submitted for publication elsewhere while the manuscript is under review.

Animal and Human use:All animal and human studies must be approved by the authors' Institutional Review Board(s). All clinical investigation must have been conducted according to the principles expressed in the Helsinki Declaration. It is the author¡¯s responsibility to ensure that a patient¡¯s anonymity be carefully protected and to verify that any experimental investigation with human subjects reported in the manuscript was performed with informed consent and follows all guidelines for experimental investigation with human subjects required by the institution(s) with which all the authors are affiliated.

Copy right: All manuscripts are considered to be the property of Immune Network from the time of submission. Should Immune Network not publish the paper, Immune Network releases its rights therein at the time the manuscript is returned to the corresponding author. The copyright of published manuscripts is held by Immune Network. The agreement of copyright transfer from all the authors should be sent with the original manuscript submission. A copyright transfer form is available at the KAI homepage.

Conflict of Interest Disclosures: The corresponding author, on behalf of all authors, must disclose any commercial affiliations or consultancies, stock or equity interests, or patent-licensing arrangements that could be considered to pose a financial conflict of interest regarding the submitted manuscript. Statements on conflict of interest have no influence on the editorial decision to publish.

TYPES OF MANUSCRIPTS
The journal publishes the following types of publications:

1) Reviews:
Review articles are usually solicited by the Editor-in-Chief. However, unsolicited Review articles will be also considered. Authors should contact the Editor-in-Chief in advance to determine the appropriateness of their Review Articles for publication. Unsolicited Reviews will undergo peer review. An Abstract is required whereas Materials and Methods section and a Results section are not required. The length of Review Articles is limited to 5,000 - 8,000 words with a maximum of 100 references. Also, there should be no more than 3 authors. Mini-reviews consisting of 1,500 - 2,500 words (without references) are also considered.
2) Research articles
Research articles are full-length descriptions of original research. The scope may include basic science, clinical results, or applications. These manuscripts will undergo standard review.
3) Brief communication, case report, and letters to the editor
The Brief Communication and Case Report should consist of ten or fewer manuscript pages, including Abstract (less than 150 words), Key Words, Text, References, Figures and Table Legends. No subdivisions such as Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion are required. Letters to the Editors should not exceed 3 manuscript pages with less than 5 authors, and should include no more than one table or figure.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION
New and revised manuscripts should be submitted online by the corresponding author using the online submission system (http://ksimm.or.kr), or directly to Editor-in-Chief, In-Hong Choi, using the email (immune00@paran.com). The authors should submit (1) cover letter, (2) text and tables (MS word), (3) Figures, (4) Check list, and (5) Copyright Form. On the cover letter, authors should make a statement about the originality of their work and disclose previous presentations, reports, or publications that contain any material that appears in the manuscript.

PEER REVIEW
By submitting a manuscript to Immune Network, the authors agree to subject it to the confidential peer-review process. Manuscripts are reviewed by at least three peer reviewers. Upon completion of the review, authors will receive notification of the Editor¡¯s decision by e-mail with comments offered by the reviewers.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
The manuscript must be submitted as a Microsoft Word (doc) file. A 12-point serif font, preferably Times New Roman, is required. For review purposes only, the complete manuscript, including figures, may be submitted as a single PDF file. Manuscripts must be paginated and double-spaced throughout.

Abbreviations: Immune Network follows the standard abbreviations established by The Journal of Immunology (http://www.jimmunol.org/misc/authorfulllength.shtml#standard). Standard abbreviations may be used without definition. For non-standard abbreviations, each abbreviation must be identified at the first time it is mentioned.

Unit of Measurement: Measurements of length, height, weight, and volume should be reported in metric units (meter, kilogram, or liter) or their decimal multiples. Temperature should be in degrees Celsius.

Each of the following components should begin on a separate page:

(1) Title Page: The tile page must include the following information: (1) full title (less than 20 words), (2) each author¡¯s full name (first name, middle initial, last name), (3) the affiliations of all authors and their institutions, departments, or organizations (use superscript arabic numerals in order), (4) name, address, telephone & fax number, and e-mail address of the corresponding author, and (5) running title (less than 8 words).
(2) Abstract: Abstract must be organized and formatted according to the following headings: (1) Background; (2) Materials and Methods (or Patients and Methods); (3) Results; and (4) Conclusion. A trade name may not be used in the title or abstract. The Abstract must be 250 words or less for full-length manuscripts.
(3) Key Words: List 3 - 6 key words.
(4) Introduction: This should provide a context or background for the study and states the specific purpose or research objective of or hypothesis tested by the study. This may include mention of papers most closely related to the article, and of the problem.
(5) Materials and Methods: Explanation of the experimental methods should be concise but sufficient to allow other workers to reproduce the results. Provide references and brief descriptions for the methods that have been published. If the manuscript contains human or animal studies, statements confirming that the studies have been reviewed and approved by an appropriate institutional review committee must be included in this section.
(6) Results: This section includes a concise textual description of the data presented in tables and figures.
(7) Discussion: This section includes the new and important aspects of the study and the conclusions. The data should be interpreted concisely. Speculation is permitted, but it must be supported by the data presented by the authors.
(8) Acknowledgements: This section may be included when the authors need to acknowledge contributions from non-authors as well as acknowledgement of research support.
(9) Conflict of interests: Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed in this section. If there are no potential financial conflicts of interest, the following statement should be added: ¡®Disclosures: The authors have no financial conflict of interest.¡¯
(10) References: References should be started in a new page and should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. The references should be marked with Arabic numbers as parenthesized after any closing punctuation. References should include only articles that are published or in press. Unpublished data, submitted manuscripts, abstracts, and personal communications should be cited within the text only. Personal communication should be documented by a letter of permission. Submitted articles should be cited as unpublished data, data not shown or personal communication. Please use the following style for references:

(11) Figure Legends: Each figure legend must have a brief title that describes the entire figure without citing specific panels, followed by a description of each panel. When symbols, arrows, numbers, or letters are used to identify parts of the figures, they should be individually identified and explained clearly in the legend.
(12) Tables: When creating a table, please use the Microsoft Word table function and do not place an Excel table in a Word document. Word tables should not be tab or space delineated and should not use color. Tables must include a title, and footnotes and/or legends that are concise. For footnotes, use superscript arabic numerals in order.
(13) Figures: The figure together with its legend should be self-explanatory. Figures must be sent as separate files, such as TIFF, JPEG, EPS, and Powerpoint files. The recommended fonts within the figures are Helvetica or Arial. Figures must be cited consecutively using Arabic numerals. Authors should review the images of such files on a computer screen to be sure they meet their own quality standard. All digitized images must have resolutions of at least 300 dpi. The complete expenses of reproducing color photographs will be charged to the corresponding author.

PAGE CHARGES
Authors will be invoiced by the publisher at the rate per printed pages ($100/1-5 pages, $150/6-10 pages and $200/ more than 11 pages) after publication. Invited review articles are exempt from page charges. For color figures, authors will be notified of the cost of color reproduction on the Reprint Form received with their electronic page proofs and must confirm acceptance of the charges in writing.

REPRINTS
The reprint order form must be returned along with the corrected galley proofs. Purchased reprints are normally shipped 3 weeks after publication of the journal.
