New Year Greeting From The President
I am honored to serve as the 31st president of The Korean Association of Immunologists (KAI). On behalf of KAI, I would like to wish you the utmost success and happiness in 2013.
I am very proud of to be working in the field of immunology, which unveils the secrets of the mysterious mechanisms by which the body defends itself and ultimately helps people to live along and healthy life. Over the past several years, the dedicated presidents and members of the KAI have made great strides in increasing membership and organizing very successful annual meeting programs, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to them. As well as it being my responsibility to allow KAI to continue to thrive I would like to introduce several initiatives during this year.
Firstly, the editorial board of our journal 'Immune Network' has been expanded to help improve its quality. We will endeavor to register Immune Network as a SCI journal as early as possible, as has long been our desire! I urge you to show your devotion to our organization by actively submitting your manuscripts.
Secondly, I understand that an important function of a professional society is to initiate interactions among members and to activate research collaboration. To address these needs, I plan to establish a program of more informal meetings to promote social interaction. I hope for and look forward to your active participation and creative ideas on this topic.
Thirdly, I would like find ways by which our society can encourage and provide recognition for domestic immunologists who have performed excellent work during recent years. This would not only give them scholarly pride but encourage their involvement in the KAI.
Finally, we will continue to invite world-renowned immunologists to the KAI annual meeting. This endeavor enables the meeting to function as the hub of the exchange of up to date information on immunological research in our nation.
I look forward to working together with you all on these initiatives and I wish you a healthy, happy and prosperous year.
Best regards,
Pyeung-Hyeun Kim
President of The Korean Association of Immunologists
